Former Post Doctoral Associates

Karthik Chinnathambi received his Ph.D in Materials Science from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in Sep 2007. His doctorate research was on the Materials chemistry of novel layered perovskite oxides and published 13 research papers in reputed journals. His current research interests include, nanostrucutured chalcogenides, electron microscopy, nanoscale thermoelectric device fabrication and measurement, nanofluids. He is currently with Boise State University.

Dr. Arup Purkayastha received his M.S (Chemistry) from Gauhati University and a Ph.D in Chemistry (January 2004) from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam, India. He published twelve research articles during his Ph.D. He joined the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Visiting Scholar in March 2004. His current research interests are synthesis and characterization of functionalized nanoparticles and nanowires for thermoelectric applications. He is using bottom up approaches for the synthesis of nanostructures of bismuth telluride and their doped counterparts.     Another goal is nanoassembly of functionalized nanoparticles and nanowires.
